Over the past fifteen years, her primary research focus has been in the area of soil contaminant interaction, soil and ground water pollution, pollution control and remediation and solid waste management.
Dr. Güngör worked as a project leader or researcher in projects like “Evaluation of the Potential Use of Natural and Artificial Materials in Reactive Barrier Systems,” “Chemical Oxidation of Organic Pollutants After Solvent Extraction,“ “Evaluation of the Soil Pollution Potential in the Middle Black Sea Region,” “A Comparative Investigation of Heavy Metal Removal from Aegean, Mediteranean and Black Sea Reagion Soils,” “Soil Pesticide Interactions and Investigation of Alternative Removal Methods.”
Regularly, Dr. Güngör publishes academic papers, serves as peer-reviewer for various international academic journals or for scientific activities. She is a member of the Chamber of Environmental Engineers.
